Neutral Density Filter
Neutral Density Filters attenuate incident light by both the reflection and absorption characteristics of an Inconel coating over a broad spectral range. Neutral Density Filters are typically used in attenuators for broad band spectral sources and partial reflector for light balancing applications.

Neutral Density Value

The performance of a neutral density filter is defined as its Optical Density (O.D)

  • O.D = Log10 ( Io/ IT )
  • Where Io =Incident Energy
  • IT = Transmitted Energy
